Try this gamed-based approach to improving student vocabulary.
Each student will be assigned a list with words that are appropriate for their current level. (Lists will also include some of the math and science vocabulary that is related to units of study).
They can then login to this site to work with the words from their list through meaningful and engaging games/activities.
Students will receive new lists every 2 weeks and will be tested on these words on 2nd and 4th THURSDAY of each month. You can find the dates for the tests on the class website CALENDAR.
Please note that joining the Spelling City site is entirely voluntary. There is no expectation or requirement that students participate. It is offered to those who are interested, as a way to improve student vocabulary. Give it a try and see what you think!
