Individualized Spelling Program |
Sequential Spelling Program
AVKO is a non-profit organization that specializes in teaching dyslexics how to read, write, spell and type. AVKO develops books and materials utilizing a multi-sensory approach (Audio, Visual, Kinesthetic, Oral) that can be used with anyone and by anyone. AVKO has an innovative set of educational materials for teaching spelling and reading to anyone. AVKO's seven-level Sequential Spelling program is used by many traditional schools as well as homeschools for teaching spelling by building increasingly complex words from the simplest word forms.

AVKO and VocabularySpellingCity.com have teamed up to provide an integrated resource for teaching spelling in an efficient, fun, multi-media way. AVKO's Individualized Spelling is a book of pre-tests that allow you to create a completely customized spelling curriculum for your student, saving time and energy by focusing on learning only those word families he does not already know. These spelling lists can be used by themselves as incrementally more difficult spelling lists, or they can be used in the way described on AVKO's Individualized Spelling & SpellingCity page. This method of teaching spelling is especially helpful to adults looking to improve their spelling, those looking to enter or re-enter the workforce, or those looking to begin or restart their college education. This method will allow learners to teach themselves as well, without the need of a tutor, which can often be frustrating and embarrassing.
Visit AVKO's website for instructions on how to make the most out of this completely customizable program you can use for yourself or with your students. You can use AVKO's Individualized Spelling lists as spelling lists that grow incrementally more difficult. Or, you can create your own completely customized program using VocabularySpellingCity's website coupled with the resources provided with membership in the AVKO Foundation for only $25.00.
