not spelled correctly 2008/02/29 05:54
My spelling list is spelled correctly when I click on the teacher list, but several words are not spelled correctly when the children play the games and makes them spell the words incorrectly in order to win the game.

This is the first time we've heard of this happening, but we will look into it. We are planning to upgrade the games in the near future, and hopefully, it will fix this kind of thing from happening again.

The lists are being typed on a computer using Internet Explorer and games are played by students with the same Internet Explorer. Same words are misspelled in games for each student. Pulled is ppulled, climbed is cliimbed. They must misspell the words to win the game. I've checked my list again, and they are correctly spelled there. I thought students were using AOL but the tech. guy says it's all on Internet Explorer.

This is very strange. I'm having trouble reproducing it. Can you be more specific.

So far, I've typed in: Pulled and climbed.
I used them on the test. Which worked fine.
I used teach me. Which worked fine.

I played hangmouse. Which worked fine.

I'm in IE7.

Can you give more details on the sequence that you're going thru that's giving the problem?

thanks - SpellingCity sewer rat

I set up a list. My students played the game by clicking on "play game." On Hang Mouse the students clicked an "i" and 2 were placed side by side. The word was climbed and when the students were through it was spelled "cliimed." Several other words were similar. I checked my list. It's correct. Happened on word search also. I then tried to play the games on the computer I typed the words in on. The same thing happened. All the computers are using Internet Explorer. This problem happens on every computer we try to play the games on. Even at home, but the master list is correct.

Really? Same problem? Same setup and play details?
