Information About Connecticut, Connecticut Geography, and Connecticut Schools

Connecticuters, or people who live in Connecticut, are especially known for living in the “ Constitution State.” The state song is “Yankee Doodle.”

The abbreviation for Connecticut is CT. The capital of Connecticut is Hartford and the largest city is Bridgeport. Connecticut borders Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island. Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean are the closest major bodies of water.

Connecticut ranks number 29 in state population. The main industries include agriculture, insurance, and tourism.

The Connecticut state bird is the American Robin. Its name is actually a mistake: Early American settlers named it a robin when it is, in fact, actually a thrush. The Mountain Laurel is the state’s flower, and the White Oak is the state tree.
