TOPIC: Separate student lists

Separate student lists 3 years, 8 months ago #2200

I would like for each student to be able to go to the lab and type in their individual lists based on writing samples. I tried to create a login for each of them using my email address and that didn't work. How can I do this so that they can manipulate their list and practice from home or library after school? Then the ones they miss stay on for the next week, while new ones are added. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Would they be typing in their own lists?

If they need separate accounts, you will need a new email address for each account.

I have 2 accounts, and needed a different email for the second account.
I created my main account with tons of lists, then another account for my kids to access (without the password; they don't enter their own lists). Each week I import only the lists they need for the week.

If this doesn't answer your question just reply, and the moderator will see it and answer. =)

Thanks for the ideas. I did want my students to be able to type in the lists on their own, but I think I will get a parent helper to type each list in under my account for me. Then I'll test the kids twice a month. We'll take off the words they get correct and add other words from their writing pieces that the get incorrect. It would be nice to have sub accounts for the students under a teacher's account. Thanks again.

You could have separate lists for them on your account, although I know that would be a lot of work to personalize each list, because you wd not want to give out your password to the students. Just name the lists by the kids' names.

Another suggestion so that the students would have access to edit and change the accounts would be to create email accounts. Yahoo and gmail are free, and they would not have to USE these emails, or even know what they are. They would just need to sign into SpellingCity under their username and password.

Hoping you'll find a solution that works well for you!

Thanks, I'll keep the free email idea in mind too.

I would like this feature also. I would love for my students to be able to add in their words and then have them carry forward if they haven't learned them yet
