When my students began to use the website to study their words this week, they very quickly brought to my attention the fact that the word "misbehavior" will not load when you click on the "test me" link. In lieu of the "say it" and "sentence" links, there is simply two words..."COMING SOON".
My students take their pre- and post-assessments online using this fantastic website. We've never encountered a problem such as this. After the first student was pre-tested, I knew what the word was. Students could still type the word into the box for grading and the site accurately graded.
Has this been brought to anyone's attention at SpellingCity prior to today? How can this issue be resolved?
When someone tries to use a word that isn't in SpellingCity's word bank, the system automatically sends an alert to SpellingCity to consider adding that word. If SpellingCity determines that the word meets criteria for inclusion, they begin the process of adding it. Because sentences must be written and recordings must be made, this process can take a month or two. When a word is in the process of being added, you will get the "Coming Soon" message when you try to use it.
