TOPIC: Special Needs Accomodations

Special Needs Accomodations 4 years, 6 months ago #1123

I'm wondering if there is a SpellingCity user who could provide us with some help regarding special needs accomodations for this site.

A great number of our users turn out to be special needs and we're trying to get more responsive to their needs.
While generally, the special needs users seem to love the service, we have received some feedback on some of the game designs.

Specifically, I have heard that some of the game designs, which use drag-and-drop, are difficult for some groups of the physically disabled.

1. Could someone with significant knowledge of this area please confirm this with us. Specically, please use the contact us form to to help us get in contact with you since there are a few related questions that we'd like answered.

2. To accomodate, we're looking to provide an alternative interface. Again, if anybody with expertise in this area would contact us we'd like to get feedback on our next designs (and some plans for rework).

3. Does anyone have other specific suggestions to help us with accomodations in the special needs area?

Overall, the SpellingCity has been very popular in parts of the special needs community but we'd like, as far as we can afford, to do more.
