MatchIt Definitions is a fun vocabulary matching game that is excellent for building vocabulary skills. It also builds logic and reasoning skills by requiring students to find the best overall solution by using a process of elimination. MatchIt Definitions is available as an online game or you can create printable vocabulary matching worksheets. Either way, MatchIt Definitions is a great way to study for a vocabulary quiz!
MatchIt Definitions Instructions: The object of MatchIt Definitions is to match the word with its correct definition. To play, click on the dots to match the words on the left with their matching definitions on the right. When you are finished, click the Submit button. For longer lists, click the Next button to view the next set of words and definitions. When you have completed the vocabulary matching game, click the Finish button.
MatchIt Definitions Printable Instructions: To create printable vocabulary worksheets, simply choose a list and click the printer icon next to MatchIt Definitions on the Games page or click the printer icon next to one of the lists above.
Anybody can sample MatchIt Definitions using any of the lists on VocabularySpellingCity's Teaching Resources page, including the ones above. However, MatchIt Definitions is a Premium Game, so to use MatchIt Definitions with lists you have entered, you must be registered and logged in as a Premium Member.
Both free and Premium Members can use their own lists to play MatchIt Sentences, in which you must match the word that accurately fills in the blank of a corresponding sentence.
